Lewis gives rookie a look at center October 15, 2002

Midway through the Red Wings' 4-2 victory Sunday night at Anaheim, Henrik Zetterberg picked off a puck in the neutral zone. He broke away on goaltender Jean-Sebastien Giguere and made a sweet move. He faked a shot, then tried to draw Giguere to the right and sneak the puck past him on the left.

"It didn't work," he said, smiling.

But the 22-year-old rookie scored his first NHL goal 13:42 into the third period, tapping a rebound into an open net on a power play.

"Liked him a lot," coach Dave Lewis said.

After playing right wing with Sergei Fedorov and Brendan Shanahan the first two games, Zetterberg centered Luc Robitaille and Kirk Maltby. Zetterberg said it didn't matter what position he played, but Lewis said he looked more comfortable at center.
